The threaded plug is easy to install, just drill holes of appropriate size and use the provided hex wrench for installation.
In softer wood, external threads can easily cut into the wood by drilling holes (8.5mm, 9mm, 9.5mm, 3/8-inch drill bits) in the inserted body, and then inserting it back into place.
On very hard wood such as white oak or maple, drill holes with sizes (3/8 inches, 9.5mm, 10mm drill bits) close to the outer thread diameter, and then insert the screws into place. If the drilling hole is too small, tightening the screw may split the wood or insert it.
